It's rare to find a contractor who brings real expertise across every corner of the trade. We've built our combined knowledge in insurance restoration, water diversion, attic airflow, wind mitigation, algae removal and prevention, granule loss prevention, leak prevention, and more — and we keep training and growing that knowledge rather than letting it plateau. RoofX of Florida was created out of frustration with where the trade had drifted. Many roofing contractors focus solely on insurance claims while neglecting the service, repair, and technical side of roofing systems. Others focus entirely on repairs and service while lacking claims expertise. Neither is inherently a bad approach, but it left a gap — a lack of full-service contractors who can be true problem solvers for homeowners, the kind of contractor that once you find, you never have to look for another.
That gap is part of why we started washing roofs. Tile roofs need periodic washing — and most HOAs require it — yet most roofing contractors don't offer this service, since it's unlicensed work and pricing has been driven down by companies with no roofing background. We kept seeing the same story: wash companies cracking tiles, damaging mortar and vents, and either botching the fix or saying nothing about the damage at all. We started offering soft washes to solve that problem for our own homeowners, then expanded the service to new customers as well. It was never about the extra revenue — it gave us a reason to inspect roofs periodically, document their condition, and have that record on hand if a home ever sells or a major storm causes damage down the road.
We know what it's like to deal with bad customer service, poor communication, and a lack of insight into a project or an insurance claim — because we've experienced it ourselves. That's why building the best possible homeowner experience is something we work toward every single day. Most of our homeowners have our cell number and know they can reach us directly. These are all real repairs we've inspected — done by previous contractors, not us. Each one shows a shortcut that looked fine from the ground but failed where it counts.
This eave enclosure shows what happens when leftover mortar and tile debris isn't cleared during installation. The small holes are designed to let water that travels under the tile drain back out — but debris buildup traps that water on the slope instead, and trapped water eventually finds its way in as a leak.
A previous contractor used tile that didn't match in color, brand, or profile — then cut it to force a fit, removing its interlocking mechanism. We generally lean toward replacing a broken tile outright; we source and store tile, including salvaging pulls from past jobs, specifically to avoid this.
This valley repair used mismatched tile left uneven and crooked, with mastic applied near the bottom transition. Valleys are designed to let water travel under the tile — sealing that path doesn't stop water from getting under, it just traps it there.
This photo, taken not long after the same valley repair, shows tile already sitting uneven, crooked, and loose enough that several pieces had slipped. We didn't perform the original repair, but we secured the slipped tiles for the homeowner in the meantime.
This is from an original builder installation, not a later repair — the flashing was installed with a substantial gap left open above it, creating a direct entry point into the attic for rodents. New construction doesn't always mean it was done right the first time.
This transition had been patched multiple times — shingles lifted to apply seam tape underneath, then left loose and nearly separated. The leak persisted, and a new vulnerability was created on top of the old one.
There are two glued tiles in this photo, and both have since come apart again — neither repair held. We generally replace a broken tile outright in the large majority of cases. Where adhering tile is genuinely the practical choice, it takes a two-part process: tile bonding foam adhesive to structurally secure both pieces, plus a waterproof sealant to keep out water, wind, and debris. Anything less leaves the crack exposed and likely to fail again.
